Photography Mentorship · Remote & In Person
Fifteen years, 200+ families, and every workflow lesson learned the hard way — so you don't have to. The Honey Method is one-on-one mentorship for photographers who want beautiful images and a business that runs smoothly behind the scenes.
The Philosophy
The inquiry emails. The client workflow. The lighting decisions you make in half a second. The editing that ties it all together. I've spent fifteen years refining a way of working that keeps sessions relaxed, clients delighted, and the business side humming quietly in the background — a little unscripted, a lot of love, and a system underneath it all. Now I'm teaching it.
Meet Your Mentor
I'm a mama, wife, and nature lover photographing families, seniors, couples, and brands along the California coast. Photography became my life's work for a deeply personal reason: I lost my mom at sixteen, and photographs are the most cherished connection I have to her memory. I know how fast time flies — it's why I take this work so seriously, and why I want more photographers doing it well.
Over fifteen years I've built a full-time photography business from scratch: the client experience, the email templates, the booking workflow, the way I read light on a chaotic beach session with three kids and a golden retriever. None of it was luck. All of it is teachable.
Whether you're across the country on a video call or standing next to me at sunset in Monterey, I'll meet you exactly where you are in your journey.
Ways to Work Together
The deepest way to work together. A season of ongoing, personal mentorship shaped entirely around your business and your goals.
One focused deep-dive on the thing that's holding you back. Pick your topic, and we'll untangle it together in a single session.
Join me on a real client session along the Monterey coast. Watch how I pose, direct, chase light, and keep families laughing — then we debrief over coffee.
Your website is your hardest-working employee — let's make sure it's earning its keep. I'll walk through your site the way a potential client would (and the way Google does), then hand you a clear, prioritized plan.
Self-paced courses and downloadable guides — my email templates, workflow checklists, and editing approach, ready whenever you are. Join the waitlist to be first to know.
The Curriculum
Every mentorship is custom — because your business isn't a template. These are the pillars we can pull from, in whatever mix you need most.
From inquiry to gallery delivery: booking systems, contracts, timelines, and the behind-the-scenes rhythm that keeps clients feeling cared for and you feeling sane.
What to say, when to say it, and how to sound like you. Inquiry replies, session prep guides, and follow-ups that turn one session into a returning client.
Reading natural light in real conditions — harsh sun, fog, backlit golden hour — and making confident decisions fast, so no location ever scares you.
Settings that become second nature, focus and composition under pressure, and shooting with intention so you cull less and keep more.
Developing a look that's consistently, recognizably yours — plus a culling and editing workflow that gets galleries out the door faster.
The thing that ties it all together: creating relaxed, unscripted sessions where real moments happen — and clients rave about you afterward.
How It Works
Send an inquiry and tell me where you are in your photography journey — and where you'd love to be.
We'll hop on a free call, find the right fit — mentorship, intensive, or shadowing — and shape it around your goals.
Real feedback, real systems, real progress — with a mentor in your corner the whole way through.
Kind Words
"It was like hanging out with friends — and I walked away a better photographer."— Future Mentee, Placeholder

Questions
Not at all! Most mentorship happens remotely over video calls, so you can be anywhere. In-person shadowing along the Monterey coast is a wonderful add-on if you can make the trip — but it's never required.
Photographers who are past the very beginning — you know your camera, you've done some sessions — and are ready to build real systems, refine their craft, and grow a sustainable business. If you're not sure you're the right fit, just ask. I'll tell you honestly.
That's exactly what one-day intensives and website/SEO audits are for. Pick a single topic — your workflow, your emails, lighting, editing, or your website — and we'll go deep on just that.
Every mentorship is custom-built, so pricing depends on what we create together. Send an inquiry and I'll share current rates and options — no pressure, ever.
Always. Britt Honey Photography isn't going anywhere — mentorship is how I pour what I've learned back into this community I love.
